One of the last things you want in a refrigeration system is moisture. Moisture causes lubrication breakdown and can cause ice to form at low pressure points. Moisture re-acts with the refrigerant to create acid as a by product. Acid attacks components and motor windings - and generally shortens the life of the compressor. ERG 1000 is virtually non-hygroscopic; it carries no moisture into the system.
ERG 1000 is virtually non-hygroscopic - unlike ALL of the other 'new' oils on the market.
The above data was taken by using the industry standard Karl Fisher testing method
ERG 1000's viscosity is more 'ideal' through the temperature range than any other refrigerant oil.
Unlike the other 'new' oils, ERG 1000 is non-toxic.
This makes the product easy and safe to handle and easy to either re-cycle or dispose of.
Many of the refrigerant oils being brought onto the market today carry safety warnings on the handling and disposal procedures for their product.

Non-toxic
Unlike the other 'new' oils, ERG 500 is non-toxic.
This makes the product easy and safe to handle and easy to either re-cycle or dispose of.
Many of the refrigerant oils being brought onto the market today carry safety warnings on the handling and disposal procedures for their product.
With International trends to make the workplace a safer place, it has to be common sense to use safer non-toxic products.
Non-miscible
Partial miscibility of lubricants with refrigeration gas has always been an unsolved problem. Whilst fully miscible with HC refrigerants and conventional mineral oils, ERG 500 is non-miscible with CFC, HFC and HCFC. ERG 500 eliminates the need for expensive modifications.
Virtually Non-hygroscopic
One of the last things you want in a refrigeration system is moisture. Moisture causes lubrication breakdown and can cause ice to form at low pressure points. Moisture re-acts with the refrigerant to create acid as a by product. Acid attacks components and motor windings - and generally shortens the life of the compressor. ERG 500 is virtually non-hygroscopic; it carries no moisture into the system.
ERG 500 is virtually non-hygroscopic - unlike ALL of the other 'new' oils on the market.
Economical
ERG 500's unique formula prevents oil logging. This is the build-up of oil deposits in the heat exchangers. ERG 500 prevents this happening, making the system more efficient and giving a valuable reduction in energy costs.
Applications
ERG 500 is the ideal oil for use in motor vehicle air conditioning compressors. Fully compatible with all refrigerants, as well as being compatible with other synthetic and mineral oils.
ERG 500 is also non-hygroscopic and non-toxic. ERG 500 is a superior refrigerant oil in virtually all applications.

After extensive research and development comes superior synthetic refrigerant oil, fully compatible with all refrigerants and air conditioner applications and especially formulated to outperform conventional mineral oils.
Test have also shown that ERG 500 reduces compressor running costs - saving you time and energy. Its synthetic properties prevent it migrating through the system like mineral oils, thus keeping the evaporators cleaner and lowering operating temperatures.
Compatibility
ERG UFA is compatible with modern O Ring and Seal Materials. It is also compatible with all refrigerants and lubricants commonly in use. No ERG UFA residue is left inside the system and therefore no dilution of refrigerants and oils can occur.
Applications
ERG UFA can be used for internal cleaning of all refrigeration and air conditioning systems. It is usually required when preparing a system for replacement of a failed compressor, or when fitting or altering other components. It is also necessary to flush carefully when changing the systems’ refrigerant and lubricant type, or when carrying out a service in which the manufacturer or industry practice calls for component flushing. Also suitable for flushing auto trans coolers, as well as many other industrial cleaning and flushing operations.
Specifications
ERG UFA is a fast evaporating, light aliphatic petroleum fluid with specific additives. It is blended to a precise formula, which makes it a perfect flushing solvent suitable for all applications. Available in 5 and 20 litre containers.
Usage
ERG UFA is simple and clean to use, particularly if the ERG UFA Flushmaster flushing kit is utilised. This system makes it possible to pressure flush the system parts and to dry out the circuits with dry nitrogen prior to reassembly. It must be remembered that compressors, filter driers and expansion valves or capillaries must be removed prior to flushing the system.
Safety
Based on available toxicology information, this product has little potential adverse effect when handled and used according to instructions. ERG UFA is flammable and is a moderate eye and skin irritant and constant exposure to fumes is a health hazard. Therefore it is important to wear appropriate protective clothing, eyewear and gloves. Product Discription
ERG UFA is a universal flushing agent, which dissolves gummy oil deposits and loosens insoluble materials in refrigeration and air conditioning systems; in their component parts such as compressors and heat exchanger coils. It is non-corrosive and acts as an effective corrosion inhibitor to protect bare metal surfaces from oxidisation.

The results of the field trials listed below are examples of careful monitoring in a 'before and after' scenario. These trials were carried out by an independent company that specialises in this type of data recording and reporting.

Seven - 11
The Seven 11 store in North Rocks, Sydney NSW
The equipment to be 'converted' to ERG 1000 was a 'typical' walk in cold room with a 2 HP semi-hermetic compressor operating on R502.
The 'before' test was carried out between 16th March 1998 and April 1st 1998
The 'after' test was carried out between 27th April and May 10 1998.
Apart from the oil change no other components were altered/changed or modified.
The Results
Consistent increase in COP (coefficient of Performance) after the changeover to ERG 1000
Increase in COP between 6 - 14% depending on ambient conditions (10% av)
Discharge and suction temperatures reduced after changeover
The increase in COP will give you more kW of cooling for every kW of electricity used, in this case an average of 10% - in effect reducing your power consumption by 10%.
N.B. This system is quite small, and thus energy savings are expected to be smaller than on larger systems.
The reduction in suction and discharge temperatures means the compressor is not working so hard - and that being the case will last longer.

Big W Store
Jesmond, Newcastle, NSW
The equipment trialed was two Twinhead Copeland, semi-hermetic, water cooled DX systems. The compressor and water cooled condenser sets are positioned in the air handling units.
The units were 'wired up' for monitoring, and linked via GSM module* for easy 'live' data collection and monitoring.
No modifications to the units were made, the old oil was removed using a mechanical flushing machine that uses liquid refrigerant to flush old oil from the system, the filter dryers were changed and the systems re-filled with ERG 1000.
To ensure like for like comparisons the company responsible for monitoring checked data against Meteorological conditions from the local weather station.
The Results
Consistent increase in COP after the change to ERG 1000
Increase in efficiency between 12% and 17%, with peak increases on hotter days at 25%
Discharge and suction pressures/temperatures reduced after change to ERG 1000, resulting in less work for the compressor.

Dairy Farmers
Lidcombe, New South Wales March 1998
Dairy Farmers had been experiencing problems with a two cream silo's in their processing plant at Lidcombe, the problems were:
Slow cooling of product
Excessive oil carry over
Compressor tripping on low oil level
Compressor tripping at high ambient conditions
The system was flushed using a mechanical flushing machine, the old oil was sampled and found to contain high acid levels, after flushing a deep vacuum was pulled on the system for 24 hours, the unit was re-filled with ERG 1000 and then re-charged with clean refrigerant.
At the time of the oil change the ambient temperature was well over 38° C - and with the heat reflecting off the roof - the air in the region of the condenser was over 45° C.
The unit was turned over, without starting to ensure all moving parts were lubricated, the system was then run up.
To this date (29-Mar-00) not only has the units never missed a beat but they have improved their cool down times by 12.5% (average) - which has meant reduced production and product loss.
